“Coney’s Magic” Included in Color Space: Contemporary Photography, Black Box Gallery

Black Box Gallery has included “Coney’s Magic” in Color Space: Contemporary Photography, a juried group show running September 1 through 25 in Portland, Oregon.

The exhibition looks at how contemporary photographers work with color across a wide range of genres, from landscape and portraiture to street, abstract, documentary, and night photography, asking how color shapes composition and style as much as subject.

Todd Johnson, founder and director of Black Box Gallery, juried the show. He received his MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and has spent 25 years in arts education and administration, including work as a portfolio reviewer for Photolucida, Critical Mass, and Blue Sky Gallery.

If you’re in Portland this September, stop by and take a look!

Black Box Gallery, 811 East Burnside St. #212, Portland, Oregon 97214.
